ELECTRONICS FAQs: 

Q: Can I program or bind my AE-1 ESC (Speed control)?
A: No programming or binding is necessary on the AE-1 ESC.

Q: Can I purchase the AS-2 or AS-3 Servo?
A: We do not sell our RTR servos separately. We recommend getting a servo with at least the same torque specs which is 120oz at 6 volts.

Q: I am using the new 2.4 radio system (AX-2/AX3) and I have no forward or reverse.
A: Rebind radio system.

Q: How many cells or volts can the AE-1 ESC handle?
A: 6 cell (7.2 volt) , 7cell (8.4 volts) or a 2s Lipo (7.4 volts) Please note AE-1 ESC does not have a Lipo cutoff. AE-1 ESC requires a low voltage cutoff if using lipo batteries.

Q: How many cells or volts can the AE-2 ESC handle?
A: 6 cell (7.2 volt) or a 2s Lipo (7.4 volts). AE-2 ESC comes stock with auto lipo cutoff turned on.

Q: What is a good brushless system for the EXO kit?
A: We have had great luck with the Tekin RX8 ESC and Redline Pro4 motor. Novak’s Havoc Pro SC ESC and 4.5t Ballistic 550 motor. Castle Creations SCT Race Pro system. Be sure to check battery limitations with these systems if you already have batteries you want to use. Some of the new brushless systems have a 2S lipo limit. Also be sure to monitor motor and ESC temperatures for the first few batteries packs.

Q: How can I waterproof my electronics?
A: The best thing to do is install your ESC and receiver inside some balloons.



GEARING FAQs:

Q: How can I get more wheel speed? (less torque)
A: The easiest/cheapest way to get more top speed is to change your spur gear and/or pinion gear. Run a smaller spur gear, or a bigger pinion, over your current set-up to gain more top speed. Be sure to monitor the ESC and motor temperatures after making any changes to ensure nothing overheats. Also take note that adding top speed will decrease battery life.

Q: How can I get less wheel speed for better crawling characteristics? (more torque)
A: The easiest/cheapest way to get better low speed crawling characteristics is to change your spur and/or pinion gear. Run a bigger spur gear, or a smaller pinion, over your current set-up to gain better low speed performance. This will help your electronics run cooler, and give you longer run times as well.



NITRO ENGINE FAQs:

Q: What is the stock needle settings on my Axial Racing engine?
A: The Low and Mid range needles stock settings are flush. The high speed needle should be set even with the groove on the high speed assembly or 3 1/2 - 4 turns from closed. All Axial Racing engines are preset from the factory for break in. We recommend using Axial Racing fuel filters (Part # AX0504, AX0501 or AX0502).

Q: What temperature should I be running my engine at?
A: No Higher than 275°

Q: How do I rebuild my shocks?
A: Rebuilding shocks isn’t that difficult, it just takes a little time.

Q: What’s the best way to clean my Axial vehicle?
A: There are few methods you can use for cleaning your R/C after a hard day on the trails.



SUSPENSION FAQs:

Q: How much travel should my suspension system have?
A: Not as much as most people think. Having a suspension set-up that has a lot of travel may look cool, but it’s not practical and won’t improve overall performance.

Q: How do I eliminate torque twist/chassis lean?
A: Torque twist/chassis lean appears when you grab a handful of throttle and the whole truck leans to one side under acceleration. It is something all shaft driven crawlers have to deal with. But, you can do a few things to lessen its presence. One, run a little thicker oil on the rear shock that is suffering from the chassis lean. Two, run a slightly stiffer spring on that same shock. Doing these two things will stiffen up the suspension on that corner of your vehicle and help fight torque twist.



XR10™ FAQs:

Q: What size battery can I fit in my XR10? Can you recommend a battery?
A: The max battery size you can use is 30mmx25mmx90mm give or take a few mm. I would recommend any 2-3S 25c or more and up to 1800mah.

Q: What is the best set up for my XR10 Chassis?
A: This is a tricky question. The ideal setup really depends on the type of terrain you drive on. Large smooth rock surfaces with gradual transitions usually lead to a course having lots of steep climbs and side-hilling. On this type of terrain it’s ideal to run a lower center clearance to keep the XR10 as stable as possible by getting the weight of the chassis lower. The opposite would be terrain with lots of abrupt transitions and undercut climbs, this would require a higher center clearance to allow for the chassis to easily “break-over” these obstacles without getting hung up or thrown off your line. Q: How do I swap batteries in my EXO?
A: Battery removal is easy. Remove two body clips to remove the side body panel and you gain access to the battery compartment. Then, simply push down and lift up on the two straps and your battery can then be removed. Easy as that!
