2010 King of the Hammers

By Axial Staff on Feb 17, 2010

Axial spent last week (Feb. 8th-12th) out in Johnson Valley for the 2010 King of the Hammers (KOH) Race. For those that have never heard of KOH, this event combines both rock crawling and desert racing. This year, the race covered 135 miles of extremely harsh terrain so it was not only challenging for the drivers, but very fun to watch. For this race, rigs have to pull double duty and need to be able to negotiate some of the hardest rock crawling trails known to mankind. Not only that, they have to focus on traveling through the desert at a decent rate of speed in order to have a shot at winning. Needless to say, the action was pretty much non-stop if you were in the right spot.

Here’s a gallery of pictures from this year’s race (be sure to check out the carnage we shot at the top of the Sledge Hammer trail). Enjoy!!
